FREQUENTLY ASKED QUSTIONS

Is the retreat truly “silent” and why is this important?

Yes, on the first evening, following orientation and dinner, you will be asked to move into silent mode and silence will be ended on the last morning beginning with singing. There will be an oral critique of the retreat also on the last morning. Cell phones will be placed on airplane mode and used in emergencies only. Silence is an important priority because in these quiet moments we are better able to encounter God more deeply and intimately. Silence opens the ears of our heart to hear and receive what the noise of life stifles.

How much does a retreat cost?

Guests of Como Plantation Retreat are invited to make a goodwill offering to help support and maintain the property. The appropriate amount is to be decided by each retreatant. We thank you in advance for your generosity!

Who can attend?

Men and women, ages 18 and up. Como Plantation Retreat is a non-denominational Christian retreat center, though people who are not committed to a faith tradition are welcome to attend.

What will I eat during the retreat?

A local caterer will provide all meals, and we’ll dine together in the Main House. If you have food allergies or other dietary restrictions, please let us know in advance.

What if I need to arrive late? Or leave early?

Retreatants should reschedule if they cannot stay for the full experience. Thank you for understanding.

Can individuals or groups visit the property?
